I phone question.

Category: accessible Devices

Post 1 by tyger_lillee84 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Thursday, 02-Jul-2009 17:19:53

I just got my i phone today, and am not used to it yet. How do I get the phone to move futher down in a list of items. for example, in the settings menu, voice over will only allow the phone to go down as far as suffari. My sister who is sighted, can see that there are more options below this, but we are unable to get to them. Does anyone know how to do this?

I can't answer this question, but have you looked at the post I made earlier today under accessible electronics. It gives several places for getting info on using the iPhone.

suffari along with phone and iPod, is right at the bottom of the screen. you can flick left or right to skip through the items on any screen, or simply run your finger across the screen.

Hi there,

I don't currently own an iPhone, and can't test this for accuracy, but as far as I know, the way one scrolls up or down a list of items is by way of a three-fingered gesture liken to the one you use when moving from one page to the next and vice versa. You place the first three fingers of your hand against the screen, and move them together either upward or downward quickly. up moves you down a list, and down moves you up in this manner. It's a quick movement, as if you're brushing dust off your screen.

I Hope this helps,

Alex

Flick your fingers up or down depending on the way you want to go. Voice over will tell you page x of x if you do it right.

Go to: www.icanworkthisthing.com and click on using IPhone with VoiceOver. You will find guides with all you need there.

Its a awesome device, especialy for college considering just about everyone texts here. I can get in touch with the director of student support services much faster if I just shoot her a quick text rather then calling her for one quick thing.

Like why are you like comparing jaws like that runs on a pc to voice over that runs on like phones?

Fyi, to answer the question of the op, it seems like your stuck in the doc which goes along the bottom of the screen. If this ever happens, you can flick a finger left a few times to come out of it, or just touch a part of the screen above the doc - ie: most of it.

I've had mine just about two months, and although it takes some getting used to, I've no regrets over buying it.

oh,my iphone is working very well, the computer that i had was causing the problem because of a firewall that blocked itunes from sinking.
